Trump Denies Reports That Top General Opposes Strike on Iran
Writing on his Truth Social platform, Trump criticized what he described as inaccurate media coverage. "Numerous stories from the Fake News Media have been circulating stating that General Daniel Caine, sometimes referred to as Razin, is against us going to War with Iran.
"The story does not attribute this vast wealth of knowledge to anyone, and is 100% incorrect," Trump said.
His comments followed reports indicating that Caine had cautioned the president and senior officials about the potential dangers associated with launching a military campaign against Iran.
Trump maintained that while Caine, along with others in the administration, would prefer to avoid armed conflict, he would fully execute military plans if ordered to do so.
"General Caine, like all of us, would like not to see War but, if a decision is made on going against Iran at a Military level, it is his opinion that it will be something easily won," he added.
‘I am the one that makes the decision’
The president emphasized that ultimate authority over military action rests with him. He referenced Caine’s role in leading “Midnight Hammer,” which he described as an operation aimed at Iran’s nuclear development infrastructure last summer.
Trump praised the general as “a Great Fighter” representing “the Most Powerful Military anywhere in the World,” while dismissing suggestions that there was internal hesitation or advocacy for limited strikes within the military leadership.
