Qatar Hopes Iran-US Talks Lead to Comprehensive Deal, Regional Stability

(MENAFN) Qatar hopes Iran-US talks yield comprehensive deal to strengthen regional stability
Qatar on Saturday expressed optimism that ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States could result in a comprehensive agreement promoting security and stability across the region, according to the country’s Foreign Ministry.

The remarks were made during a meeting between Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi, who is visiting Doha.

The two officials reviewed efforts to ease regional tensions following the conclusion of nuclear talks between Washington and Tehran in Oman the previous day.

Sheikh Mohammed welcomed the Muscat-hosted discussions, expressing hope that they would “lead to a comprehensive agreement that serves the interests of both parties and enhances security and stability in the region.”

He emphasized “the need for concerted efforts to spare the peoples of the region the consequences of escalation and to continue coordinating with brotherly and friendly countries to overcome differences through diplomatic means.”
